Proposed Facade-adjacent Bathroom
The renovated facade of Austin and Louise's Kentucky Avenue home now reflects their tastes and inclinations. A bridge stretches across a sunken moat, providing a welcoming hand through an imposing metal barrier. The De Stijl-esque patterning of the openings communicates Austin's interest in electronic music. The music is both densely layered and highly syncopated, and - although the lyrics are dark - the tunes, like DeStijl art, aspire to clarity.
But this isn't just decoration: The patterning and layering of the facade follow directly from the layout of the interior spaces. Indoors, the carefully designed casework creates a consistent, contemporary aesthetic. Rigorous drawings make all the difference when it comes to detail.
