In this renovation, new cabinets and a tin clad wall frame careful views of the busy pharmacists and attract shoppers. We took inspiration from the work of Joseph Cornell, who framed careful views of pharmacy objects. The intent is to open up the building, but translucent panels and the tin wall create privacy where it is required. The tin wall serves as a dynamic threshold, augmenting the perceptual shift between interior and exterior. Like Cornell's work, the content brings back old memories; but the compositions are modern. And the open building will be safer! It's the 7-eleven strategy: More glass equals better views into the building from the street equals more security.
