Working for Frederick Fisher and Partners when I lived in Los Angeles, I was the architect of this huge gym, the Freizeit, which would have been located in Japan. As well, I was an important part of the team that designed the rest of this 500,000,000 square foot shopping city.

The buildings of the complex are clad with limestone, glass, and colorful billboards that add personality and scale to the facades. Visitors arrive by train or car.  Then, they follow a line of billboards, banners and trees that lead past the exit stairs and the parking to the rear entrance. Once within the campus, shoppers follow a pedestrian street we called the “road to health” in the office.  That street, fittingly enough,  led to the Freizeit.
